Everything is on track — 16 weeks,” he laughed.</p> <p>“Baby is due in August, team. Sam Mac's big announcement

<p>Sam Mac has announced that he is ready to make his grand return on <em>Sunrise</em>, after one month of <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/entertainment/tv/sam-mac-takes-a-break-from-sunrise" target="_blank" rel="noopener">paternity leave.</a></p> <p>The <em>Sunrise</em> weather presenter said goodbye to viewers in October to help take care of his one-year-old daughter Margot, as his partner returned to work. </p> <p>“I know there’s been a huge build-up for this and I’m very excited to announce...I’m back at work on Monday,” he announced the news via a live call in his home. </p> <p>The doting dad was seen playing with his daughter as he shared the news of his comeback, and opened up on his experience of paternity leave. </p> <p>He said that he “knew it would be hard, but it’s been so relentless”.</p> <p>“I hate to say this in front of her, she’s listening, but she’s such hard work,” he joked about his one-year-old who played with her toys beside him.</p> <p>“She is such a diva.</p> <p>“When I’m lucky enough to get her down for a sleep for about 45 minutes during the day, that 45 minutes is not spent relaxing.</p> <p>“It’s spent doing her washing, preparing her next meal," he added before applauding all the stay-at-home parents who work tirelessly to take care of their kids.</p> <p>"I want to take this opportunity to bow down to all the stay-at-home mums and also the dads who do it. You guys are the true heroes,” he said bowing down to the camera. </p> <p>“I’ve had a real taste of it over the last month and don’t get me wrong, it’s been magical.</p> <p>“I’ve got to see her learn how to walk, she’s doing her gardening now, she’s been reading lots of books.</p> <p>“It's been magic every day, but it’s also been super hard work.</p> <p>“So absolute respect to all the stay-at-home mums and the single mums and dads out there! You guys are legends.”</p> <p>The father-of-one couldn't help but show off his daughter's new skill, as the young tot stuck her tongue out at him after he asked: “Where’s your tongue?”. </p> <p>“I’m so glad she didn’t let me down with that,” he laughed.</p> <p>“She’s a Mac, she’s a performer. Sam Mac takes a break from Sunrise

<p><em>Sunrise</em> weather presenter Sam Mac is taking a break from the screen so he can take care of his one-year-old daughter, Margot. </p> <p>Sam revealed that he is looking forward to enjoying one month of parental leave to help out his partner, Rebecca James, who is planning to go back to work.</p> <p>“She’s been thinking about it for the past few months and now that Margot is over a year old she’s ready to properly get back into the workforce,” he told <em>7Life</em>. </p> <p>The<em> Sunrise </em>presenter also thanked his team for allowing him to take so much time off to focus on his family. </p> <p>“It’s my turn to be getting Margot up, feed her and basically becoming her personal assistant/servant,” he joked.</p> <p>He added that Margot is “at a really good age right now”, and the doting dad can't wait to take her to the zoo, aquarium and spend more time with her. </p> <p>“She’s walking now which is awesome but it’s a bit daunting because we have to childproof the house … but really exciting times,” he said. </p> <p>“Margot’s changed so much even in the past couple of months.</p> <p>“So it’s super-exciting to have some proper quality time with her.”</p> <p>Sam and his partner also have a few exciting trips planned, including trips to to Melbourne, where Rebecca’s family is, and Adelaide, where Sam’s parents are, just in time for Christmas. </p> <p><em>Images: Instagram</em></p> <p> </p>

Sam Mac under fire for excluding mum from once-in-a-lifetime concert

<p>Sam Mac <span style="font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Open Sans', 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;">had all the best intentions when he planned the surprise announcement for his dad's 70th birthday, but his execution had fans bombarding his page with furious comments. </span></p> <p>The <em>Sunrise</em> weatherman posted a <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@sammactiktok/video/7295241603319368962" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok</a> on Monday of him walking with his parents moments before he surprised his dad with tickets to former Beatles member Paul McCartney’s Sydney Concert. </p> <p>"I told my parents we were walking to a bar called SPM," the text overlay read on the TikTok. </p> <p>“I’ve been lying to you both – there is no bar,” Sam told his parents, who believed they were heading there to celebrate his dad's birthday. </p> <p>“There is no bar called SPM … SPM stands for Sir Paul McCartney,” he said.</p> <p>“Paul McCartney!” his mum exclaimed, but her excitement was short-lived. </p> <p>“Sorry mum, you’re not coming,” he laughed.</p> <p>“I’ll get you an Uber mum, it’s fine, you came to the Logies.”</p> <p>Sam's dad was clearly stunned as he teared up while hugging his son. </p> <p>The rest of the video showed Sam and his dad having a blast as they sang along to a few classic Beatle's songs like <em>A Hard Day’s Night, Hey Jude</em> and <em>Let it Be</em>.</p> <p>But fans couldn't let go of his snub. </p> <p>“Having sat through the Logies myself, it’s just not a fair comparison," one wrote. </p> <p>“Worse still, he brought her all the way there first and made her go home,” added another. </p> <p>"Should have given your mum your ticket. Date night for mum and dad," a third commented </p> <p>"She got dressed up for nothing. At least include her in the surprise. Stevie Nicks faces wild backlash over Hawaii fires post

<p>Stevie Nicks, the celebrated icon from Fleetwood Mac, has drawn a mixed response among her admirers due to her extensive reflection on the Maui fires, with even her most devoted supporters not hesitating to express their concerns.</p> <p>The legendary artist took to social media to convey her thoughts regarding the tragic Maui fires, a subject close to her heart. Fleetwood Mac legend’s eye-watering fortune revealed

<p dir="ltr">Fleetwood Mac star Christine McVie left behind a $135 million fortune, probate documents revealed.</p> <p dir="ltr">The singer and keyboardist <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/news/news/there-are-no-words-fleetwood-mac-star-dies-aged-79" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed away aged 79</a> in November last year following a short illness. McVie, who was living in London at the time, had suffered a <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/health/caring/fleetwood-mac-star-s-cause-of-death-revealed" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stroke and had cancer</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">A year before her death, she secured a massive deal and sold the rights to her entire back catalogue of 115 songs.</p> <p dir="ltr">McVie played in several bands before joining Fleetwood Mac in 1970, just two years after she married the band’s bassist John McVie.</p> <p dir="ltr">She left the band in 1998 and returned to tour in 2014.</p> <p dir="ltr">Following her death, her former bandmates Mick Fleetwood and Stevie Nicks said: “She was truly one of a kind, special and talented beyond measure.</p> <p dir="ltr">“She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We were so lucky to have a life with her. I wanted to show people (particularly new dads) that if you truly apply yourself, you can start seeing results reasonably quickly. You can get yourself physically & mentally fitter which is a huge win for you, your partner & your little one.”</p> <p>Sam shared that the process was “bloody hard work” but he was eager to share tips for his followers to achieve their goals.</p> <p>“I’m fully aware everyone’s situation & goals are different & not everyone has access to the trainers & experts I did,” he said. “But I’m hoping I can borrow (*steal) some of the knowledge & pointers I picked up along the way & pass it on to you.”</p> <p>One person asked if he was still working out at the same intensity he was in the lead-up to the <em>Men’s Health</em> cover and Sam revealed he wasn’t.</p> <p>“The short answer is no,” he said. “I don’t think it’s realistic for me, certainly not sustainable and probably not even healthy. I was consumed by it, it was an obsession.</p> <p>“But, the principles, the learnings are still the same and they're still relevant… I would say that I’m now operating at about 75 per cent of what I was throughout the challenge, and that’s manageable.”</p> <p>The dad-of-one shared that his new fitness goals included reaching 10,000 steps per day, training three to four times per week, and the “reintroduction of cheese naan bread (in moderation)”.</p> <p>Sam admitted that the three “most confronting” parts of the challenge were getting waxed, having to wear disposable spray tan underwear and getting the spray tan for the magazine shoot. Fleetwood Mac star’s cause of death revealed

<p>New details have emerged regarding the cause of death of Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie.</p> <p>McVie passed away at the age of 79 in November 2022, surrounded by her loved ones, after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. </p> <p><a href="https://oversixty.com.au/news/news/there-are-no-words-fleetwood-mac-star-dies-aged-79" target="_blank" rel="noopener">As her family said at the time</a>, “it is with a heavy heart we are informing you of Christine’s death.</p> <p>“She passed away peacefully at hospital this morning, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, following a short illness. She was in the company of her family.”</p> <p>And now, <em>The Blast</em> have revealed that the singer’s death certificate confirms that the cause of her death was an ischaemic stroke, with her cancer listed as the secondary cause.</p> <p>McVie’s cancer was a “metastatic malignancy of unknown primary origin”, meaning that the disease had spread throughout her body but the primary source or tumour could not be detected.</p> <p>According to the Stroke Foundation, an ischaemic stroke “is the most common type of stroke”, caused by “the blood supply being blocked” and restricted from reaching the brain.</p> <p>The death certificate - unveiled in court with documents filed to settle McVie’s estate - also noted that McVie suffered from “atrial fibrillation” (otherwise known as AFib), and is explained by the Heart Foundation as being “is a type of arrhythmia in which your heart beats irregularly and often fast.”</p> <p>The star had been open about her health journey in the months prior to her passing, even telling <em>Rolling Stone</em> that “I’m in quite bad health. I’ve got a chronic back problem that debilitates me. I stand up to play the piano, so I don’t know if I could actually physically do it. What’s that saying? ‘The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak’.”</p> <p>However, McVie’s friend and bandmate Stevie Nicks wrote - in the wake of McVie’s death - that she “didn’t even know she was ill”, sharing a handwritten statement on social media that read “a few hours ago I was told that my best friend in the whole world since the first day of 1975, had passed away. </p> <p>“I didn't even know she was ill… until late Saturday night.</p> <p>“I wanted to be in London; I wanted to get to London - but we were told to wait. So, since Saturday, one song has been swirling around in my head, over and over and over. I thought I might possibly get to sing it to her and so, I’m singing it to her now. <p>Sam Mac has shared the gruelling health and fitness journey he has been on for the last two months, finally unveiling his "secret project". </p> <p>The <em>Sunrise</em> weather presenter shocked his co-hosts on Friday morning's show by revealing his buffed-up body on the cover of <a href="https://www.menshealth.com.au" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Men’s Health</em></a> magazine.</p> <p>“We’ve got some big news,” he said during the weather segment.</p> <p>“A lot of our viewers have been writing to me over the past weeks asking ‘Have you lost weight - what’s going on?’”</p> <p>“Yes I have lost weight, I’ve been training for the last two months, and I can reveal that I’m on the cover of Men’s Health magazine.”</p> <p>His co-hosts were quick to sing his praise, with Matt Shirvington saying "You look good!", to which Mac admitted, "It was really hard."</p> <p>“Basically you become the most boring human - no alcohol, no sugar, no bread, no pasta, no pizza... all the good stuff”.</p> <p>“But it’s all worth it because what a challenge it was and I’m really proud to share this story.”</p> <p>“You can be interesting now,” Nat joked as the segment wrapped.</p> <p>Sam also shared his transformation on Instagram, sharing just how much he had transformed his body in eight short weeks. </p> <p>Sharing the cover of the magazine, that included his "before" photo, Mac wrote, "Wowsers! <p>Sam Mac has shocked Sunrise viewers after he swore live on air.</p> <p>The weatherman attempted to ride a camel for a segment on the family-friendly breakfast show when he let a not-so-family-friendly word slip.</p> <p>Sam can be seen climbing aboard the giant camel, when the animal suddenly lurched to its feet, leaving the TV presenter struggling to stay in the saddle.</p> <p>Sam momentarily forgot he was live on air, yelling “Oh, sh*t! Fleetwood Mac's devastating news

<p>Mick Fleetwood has shared a sad update on the future of Fleetwood Mac.</p> <p>The founding member of the iconic group announced he thinks the band is "done" following the death of Christine McVie in late 2022. </p> <p>McVie was the songwriter, vocalist and keyboardist responsible for some of Fleetwood Mac’s most enduring hits, including <em>Little Lies</em>, <em>Everywhere</em> and <em>Don’t Stop</em>. </p> <p>She died at age 79 on November 30th 2022 after a battle with a short illness. </p> <p>Speaking on the Grammys red carpet this week, Fleetwood – who performed a musical tribute to his late bandmate alongside Sheryl Crow and Bonnie Raitt during the ceremony – said McVie’s death had drawn “the line in the sand” for Fleetwood Mac. </p> <p>“I think right now, I truly think the line in the sand has been drawn with the loss of Chris,” he said.</p> <p>“I’d say we’re done, but then we’ve all said that before. It’s sort of unthinkable right now.”</p> <p>Christine McVie joined the band in 1970, three years after they were founded, before leaving the group in 1998. </p> <p>She rejoined the band in 2014 for what would be the final world tour of Fleetwood Mac’s most iconic line-up: Christine McVie, Fleetwood, Stevie Nick, Lindsey Buckingham and John McVie.</p> <p>Christine's death was <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/news/news/there-are-no-words-fleetwood-mac-star-dies-aged-79" target="_blank" rel="noopener">confirmed</a> by her family in an emotional statement, as they said she was surrounded by loved ones in her final moments. </p> <p dir="ltr">"On behalf of Christine McVie's family, it is with a heavy heart we are informing you of Christine's death. “Absolutely delighted”: Sam Mac announces new career move

<p>Sam Mac took to Instagram on Monday to announce that he will be joining the team of <em>Sydney Weekender</em> as their new host. </p> <p>Sam has been providing Australians with weather updates since joining Channel 7’s <em>Sunrise</em> in 2016. In his <em>Sydney Weekender</em> announcement post, Sam assured his audience that he would be staying on as weatherman.</p> <p>He will be replacing fellow Channel 7 presenter Matt Shirvington, who is leaving <em>Sydney Weekender </em>to turn his attention to his budding 7News and 7Sport commitments. </p> <p>“Absolutely delighted to be the new host of @sydneyweekender,” Sam captioned his post to Instagram, where he shared an article by the Daily Mail. “As you know, my true life passion is meteorology, so I will be continuing my role as Australia’s 14th most popular TV Weatherman … <em>Sydney Weekender </em>is an absolute institution & what a super talented & friendly team they are!”</p> <p>Sam and his partner, Rebecca James, welcomed their first child in September. Sam Mac’s terrifying close call at the zoo

<p dir="ltr">Sam Mac has had a close call with a menacing lion at Sydney Zoo, just days after<a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/news/news/five-lions-escape-from-taronga-zoo-enclosure" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> five of them escaped at Taronga Zoo</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">The <em>Sunrise </em>weatherman was speaking to Marco, one of the zoo’s lion keepers, about Virunga, a massive 220kg lion.</p> <p dir="ltr">Virunga kept pacing up and down his enclosure as the pair discussed how big he is before Sam got the fright of his life.</p> <p dir="ltr">“The size of the paws, you feel their breath, the sounds that they make,” Sam said.</p> <p dir="ltr">Suddenly, Virunga jumped at the fence causing Sam and Marco to jump back, while in the studio Natalie Barr and David Kochie could be heard exclaiming “oh my goodness”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He’s very hungry,” Marco said.</p> <p><iframe style="border: none; overflow: hidden;" src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FSunrise%2Fvideos%2F5579584545490670%2F&show_text=false&width=560&t=0" width="560" height="314" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p> <p dir="ltr">Sam then jokingly mentioned the incident at Taronga Zoo in which five lions escaped their enclosure - sounding the warning alarm.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Did you have that moment when you suddenly realise you’ve left the iron on at home?” he asked.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Like, ‘have I done all of my checks, are all of the gates closed? Did you have that moment?”</p> <p dir="ltr">Marco confessed that the incident at Taronga Zoo was a “definitely a good reminder” to ensure that he’s locked up the lions for everyone’s safety.</p> <p dir="ltr">He then handed Sam a piece of meat to feed Virunga and put his palm up against the fence before getting another fright.</p> <p dir="ltr">“So, just keep the fingers away, that’s all I need to know?" Sam asked</p> <p dir="ltr">“Yep, just keep the meat in the palm of your hand, aim for one of the squares around his head height, and keep your hand nice and flat,” Marco said.</p> <p dir="ltr">Once again, Virunga jumped at the fence, placing his large paw on it, scaring Sam away.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Whoah - ohhh. Sam Mac calls out stalker live on air

<p dir="ltr">Sam Mac has jokingly called out his partner Rebecca James as a stalker live on air. </p> <p dir="ltr">The <em>Sunrise</em> weatherman was at Luna Park in Sydney reporting on the weather before saying he liked meeting new people. </p> <p dir="ltr">He then points to his partner who is holding their newborn baby daughter Margot before joking saying “apparently it’s my child”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I must be honest, sometimes you do have - look, stalker is a strong word - but people just hang around and loiter wherever you are,” he said during Monday’s segment.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Like this lady over here, she’s just been following me around,” he continued as the camera panned to Rebecca holding baby Margot. </p> <p dir="ltr">“Apparently it’s my child as well, but I’ve got to give a little shoutout.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Good morning Bec! And Margot who is actually seven weeks old yesterday, so today Margot is 50 days old - not that I’m counting, but there we go, we’ve made it this far.”</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Sunrise</em> co-host Natalie Barr commented that Sam and Rebecca are “experienced parents now! You totally know what you’re doing”. </p> <p dir="ltr">“I’ll write a book on it, I’ll do a TED talk, it’s easy,” Sam responded.</p> <p dir="ltr">Margot has been making a few appearances on Sunrise, with her first one being when she was just days old. </p> <p dir="ltr">The new parents also regularly share updates to Instagram of the milestones they’ve achieved with Margot. </p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Images: Sunrise</em></p>

Sam Mac’s cheeky dig at Robert Irwin

I'm excited, it's gonna be good fun guys!”</p> <p dir="ltr">On the other side however, Robert’s sister Bindi has <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/lifestyle/family-pets/bindi-irwin-slammed-for-useless-response-to-animal-tragedy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">come under fire</a> for her "pathetic, useless" response to a "tragedy" at a wildlife farm in the US. </p> <p dir="ltr">Bindi was contacted on Twitter by Taylor Blake in Florida, asking for help to cure her emu Emmanuel, who has avian influenza. </p> <p dir="ltr">According to Taylor, avian flu has killed 99 percent of the other birds who live at Knuckle Bump Farms, in what she described as a "massive tragedy".</p> <p dir="ltr">Running out of options to save her celebrity emu, Taylor reached out to the Aussie wildlife warriors online. </p> <p dir="ltr">Bindi Irwin responded saying that, although Australia Zoo had treated more than 100,000 animals, it had “never treated an emu with this particular disease”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We will need to rely on our fellow animal experts with more experience with this avian flu,” she began, in a tweet in response to Blake’s call for help.</p> <p dir="ltr">She signed off the response with, “Sending love and light your way from our entire family”.</p> <p dir="ltr">Bindi's response was quickly condemned online, with many suggesting the Irwins might have been able to do something to assist. </p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Images: Instagram</em></p>

Karl Stefanovic called the “biggest wimp” by camel tour operator

<p dir="ltr">Karl Stefanovic has been called a “wimp” on television during a live cross on Sunrise with weatherman Sam Mac. </p> <p dir="ltr">Sam was interviewing John, a Red Sun Camels tours operator in Broome, Western Australia for the company’s 22nd birthday. </p> <p dir="ltr">The weatherman then asked John to name the “biggest wimp” to ever ride one of the camels and he certainly did not hold back.</p> <p dir="ltr">“You’ve obviously had a lot of TV people, movie people; who’s been the biggest wimp on a camel in 22 years?” Sam asked.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Oh, you’re going to love this... Karl Stefanovic,” John responded.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We did the Today show many years ago. Lisa Wilkinson? Brave as all hell, could do anything. Karl? Nup, big girl with flowers.”</p> <p dir="ltr">“I swear I didn't set that up,”' Sam said. “That's not me trying to have some sort of petty rivalry. His words not mine. Sam Mac’s emotional tribute to one-month-old daughter

<p dir="ltr">Sam Mac has shared a heartwarming one-month tribute to his baby daughter Margot.</p> <p dir="ltr">The <em>Sunrise</em> weatherman and his girlfriend, Rebecca James, welcomed Margot Grace McMillan on September 10 following a whirlwind pregnancy.</p> <p dir="ltr">One month on since her arrival, Sam shared a new photo of baby Margot in the bath with a beautiful tribute, jokingly describing her as a “wrecking ball”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Dear Margot, You’re 1 month old today! & my goodness, you came in like a wrecking ball!” Sam’s post read.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It was always going to take a lot to see me relegated to 2nd biggest diva in the house, but you managed that in your first few hours. When you want something, oh my, do you let us know!</p> <p dir="ltr">“Your face turns redder than Barnaby Joyce & your scream reaches 2 octaves higher than Jimmy Barnes.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Sam then described the realities of being parents when babies “shoot out” of their mouths and bottoms, calling Margot a “mini Bellagio fountain”.</p> <p dir="ltr">He went on to thank Margot for picking him and Rebecca to be her parents, saying they are “just so eternally grateful”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“You are the most important person in our world. We both can’t stop staring at you. Your tiny fingers, your little ear lobes, the fat rolls on your neck. Every part of you is perfect to us. We even stare at you while you’re sleeping (an activity that would normally have us placed on a watch-list).</p> <p dir="ltr">“Your Mum is giving you absolutely everything she’s got right now. Sometimes she’s exhausted & in pain, but she doesn’t let you see that. She shows you nothing but love. It’s a privilege to see both of you grow together.
